DescriptionThe first digit of the foot was a small dewclaw. However, whereas most carnivores had feet with three digits contacting the ground, Velociraptor walked on only their third and fourth digits. The second digit, for which Velociraptor is most famous, was highly modified and held retracted off the ground. It bore a relatively large, sickle-shaped claw, which could be over 6.5 cm (2.6in.) long around its outer edge. This was most likely a predatory device used to attack the throats of its prey. This fine highly detailed replica sculpture comes in a display box with a build in easel and wall hook for easy display. An information card is included in the display box. The specimen can be removed for close study and examination.
